Christmas 2015

Christmas 2015 was great! My parents and Jane and Walter came to Denver for the week (Aaron and Amy are roughing it in Thailand). The kids had a fun week off of school with Didi and Bapa, going to every museum they could find. We did Christmas at our house and spent a day in Boulder. We thought about skiing but it was cold (Noah escaped for 24 hours to ride). We had a white Christmas and the kids were totally spoiled by Santa and everyone else. Finn's favorites were a keyboard, world map and magna tiles, Sophia loves her karaoke machine and dress-up clothes and Emmett got a ride-on car that everyone has been lapping the house with. They all got their own suitcases which they love. We packed them up and went swimming at Didi and Bapa's hotel on Sunday. Last Friday Noah and I went to Finn's holiday party to make gingerbread houses. There was frosting everywhere!!! Emmett LOVES books. He'd bring them to Bapa and crawl up on his lap. Finn learned about Soli...
We got a big storm yesterday which meant the snow gods were calling Noah. He left Friday night and got two days in while the kids and I stayed here and had some fun. After skiing the last two weekends I was ready for a low key weekend.   Emmett is obsessed with books. His current favorite is The Napping House. We read it 10 times a day and he gets very upset when things start to go downhill in that story.  We got our tree this week! We are hosting Christmas and I can't believe it's 12 days away. Crazy! The kids and I went to the aquarium on Saturday. The scuba divers were hand feeding the eels when we got there. It was pretty cool to see.  Sophia hiding in there! Very random tiger at the aquarium?! Finn has somehow managed to hang on to the same pair of glasses he got when he was 5. He got some pretty cute new Ray Bans this week.  It snowed ALL day on Saturday so even though we went to the aquarium in the morning, it was a pretty ...

More skiing! (and Frozen on Ice)

We had a busy and fun weekend. Noah and I got out to a show at the Bluebird on Friday night, I took Finn, Sophia and their friend Sofia to Frozen on Ice on Saturday and we took the whole fam skiing again on Sunday. It went much smoother than last weekend and we had happy kids at the end of the day. They both made some good progress. Finn is making turns and Sophia is just flying down straight, hoping not to crash into the fence at the bottom. Noah and I got in a solid few hours on the mountain, and even breaked for lunch and beers. So fun. We were in the 4th row. Sophia absolutely love the show. I've been to a few Disney on Ice shows and this one was actually really cute. Finn on the other hand told me I wasted his whole day by making him go. Lol. Some downtime with Emmett playing Batik. He LOVES saying "no!" and then laughing. It's his answer to any question. He also loves when we say something like "Who wants a grilled cheese?" and he raises hi...

Emmett goes to the ER...again

Tuesday night we were all in the kitchen cleaning up from dinner. Emmett was holding his blanket just kind of wandering around and all of a sudden we hear a very loud smack and he's down on the ground. He must have slipped on his blanket and he landed on the tile with his face. I picked him up and he got really limp, then started crying hysterically. I was waiting for the blood and sure enough, his mouth started gushing. We ran Sophia and Emmett to the neighbors, got E in the car and headed to the ER (his 4th trip in 20 months of life). Turns out he was fine, but he torn the skin above his front teeth. He ate a popsicle, they watched him for an hour and we headed home. This boy!!

Thanksgiving 2015

Our family spent Thanksgiving in Denver this year. We cooked a full meal and of course two pumpkin pies. Everything was delish and everyone was in a food coma by about 7pm. We got a decent amount of snow on Thursday so we went sledding on Friday and then skied at Loveland on Saturday. We signed Finn and Sophia up for all-day ski school. Lots of tears, defiance and about a million dollars later they were all set up in their classes and Emmett was checked into the daycare and we actually got to ski for a few hours! It was so fun. I am so happy to not be snowboarding anymore :) Today is a lazy day with about a hundred loads of laundry to do. I'm going to the Broncos game tonight for work where we're attempting to set the Guinness World Record for most fake mustaches worn for men's health awareness (we ordered 80,000 orange mustaches). Never a dull day on the job. My helpers for the carrots Not so helpful but entertaining. Ready for some dinner!! Not happy abo...

weekend update

We had a nice, low key weekend. We went to dinner with new friends on Saturday night - they live around the corner and have Sofia who is 5 and Oscar who is 2.5. The kids love hanging with them and their parents are nice and normal which is good for me and Noah. Other than that we hit up the park and the kids all recovered from colds.   This picture seriously cracks me up. In his new beanie, reading Junie B. Jones in bed. He's a reading machine right now and we just got an email from his teacher telling us that he's ahead of where he should be and how proud we should be of him. Go Finnster. Sophia and Sofia. They played together all day on Saturday, we went to dinner with them on Sat night and they were begging for a sleepover.  At the park this weekend - 65 degrees. And 5 inches of snow today. Finn left Slush at the farm - Papa mailed him back and they were finally reunited! Midway through getting out the door before school today. Takes a solid 15 mi...
