Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Last week I got to go with the LJES second graders to the Zoo. It was a full day - we left school at 8:30 and didn't get back until after 2. Mrs. Wallace was determined to see every exhibit. We tracked 13,000 steps and me and Finnster were both beat. So fun to spend the whole day with him and his buddies.  B-2! The kids were off school Friday and hung with dad. They saw Wimpy Kid and then I met them for a late afternoon lunch in the Shores. Love this little sign at Barbarella's.  These two are taking after their mama and getting into tennis! Sophia's got quite the hustle. She chases after EVERY ball. The rec center has this great backboard.  Brunch at the Lawrence's on Sunday didn't disappoint. Delicious bloody mary's, good food and loved catching up with my old work buds. xo  Back to the grind tomorrow. 12 DAYS OF SCHOOL LEFT!!!
Sunday night seems to be my night to blog lately.  Busy week, fun weekend, this house is full of tired kids and parents right now! Lots of fun stuff going on at school for Finn and Soph as they count down the last few weeks of school. Finn's class has been building a city and presented their work to the parents this week. He and his partner built the firehouse. Two girls in his class built the store Justice which I thought was totally hilarious.  The city.  Emmett had a follow up to his front tooth fiasco last week. Teeth look great and we're thinking he's going to get to keep them. YAY. He was an amazing patient as always and charmed every lady in the office. I think he walked out of there with no less than 5 treasures from the treasure chest. Bday party for Madelyn on Saturday. I think the kids lost 5 pounds each jumping in the bouncy. It was hot! I love Sophia's face in this picture. Ummm, when can we bust into that Frozen cake?! We had ...

Mother's Day weekend 2017

Another weekend came and went. Friday night we hit up the Amigos Fiesta at school. It's one of the big fundraisers of the year and it was quite a party. Finn's class kicked it off with a Mexican dance, then there were games, the cake walk, food and lots of fun with friends.  Soph is really into braids lately :)  This is Finn, floating on his belly putting his whole face in the water. For a kid who has always hated the water, he's finally learning to swim and doing it FAST Friday morning performance at the school assembly. Finn's class sang The Grand Old Flag. Finn and Lola - amigos!  Dancing for the parents! Saturday morning we hit up PB. Took the scooters out on the pier, and stopped at a coffee shop for drinks and croissants.  Saturday afternoon Soph had a yoga/pool party. These girls were seriously the cutest. For Mother's Day we spent most of the day in Del Mar. Kids played at the beach, then we went to En Fuego for lunch ...

What we've been up to

Well after a month of perfect weather we got a whole weekend of gloom and rain! It was so depressing :( Waaahh.  Finn got an award last week at the 2nd grade assembly for work habits and academic achievement. He got to go up on stage (and we got to go w/him) and the principal read all kinds of nice things about him. So proud of this kid! Bunny! She asked me not to call her Bunny and to start calling her Sophie.  On Saturday we all went to the library. Sophia is doing an awesome job learning to read and wants to know what every single word is!  These two started swim lessons at the Y yesterday. It was 62 and raining but they didn't care.  Being monkeys on the wall Kelsey babysat last night and we saw The Flaming Lips at the Observatory. Always such an amazing and weird and crazy show. And always fun to get a night out without kids...even on a school night.
