A weekend of Halloween festivities

We had a fun weekend and finally got into the Halloween spirit. It's been so hot that it just hasn't felt at all like fall. We got trick-or-treat buckets, everyone's costumes have come together and on Sunday we went to the Harvest Festival at La Jolla Elementary. The kids ran into all kinds of buddies, decorated pumpkins and ate lots of goodies at the farmers market. It was a gloomy afternoon so we got super arts and crafty while Emmett took a monster nap.  Big bro helping lil bro open some crackers. My boys <3 I don't think there's been a cloud in the sky since we landed in San Diego. Polar opposite from Amsterdam. I looked up the other day and this view was too incredible not to take a picture.  We had family movie night on Saturday night - watched Paper Planes on Netflix which was super cute. Sophia and the neck pillow strike again.  Very into their pumpkin decorating! Still going strong! We met up with the Rosen's. Soph and...

Sophia turns 5!

Our little bunny turned FIVE last week! I can't even believe it, a whole hand. She took lollies to school for her classmates, and then we had a party at La Jolla Rec Center on Sunday. Complete with a bounce house, pizza and a cake big enough to feed at least 100 people. Seriously, the cake was ridiculous. Apparently I ordered a full sheet instead of a quarter or a half. Oooopsies. I think five is gonna be a great year for Soph. She has made lots of new friends and is so happy to go to school everyday. I'm so happy she's in TK, she is loving it. She got a new bike from us, and lots of cool art stuff from friends, and her first Barbie! She also got another Wonder Woman costume from Nay Nay, thank goodness. Cruisin' on her new ride. Now we just have to get rid of those training wheels.  The actual night of her birthday she requested pasta so we went to Filipi's in PB. Hadn't been there in at least a decade and it did not disappoint. The waitstaff sang her ...

The past week

It was another jam packed weekend with a birthday party, an afternoon at the beach, a dinner out with the Lawrence fam and of course the endless grocery shopping. These kids won't stop eating!! We've been to some pretty awesome bday parties the past few weeks. This one had an ice cream truck. Of course E got in on the action.  Sophia's sleepover last weekend was a huge success. Florence is an only child and I think Sophdawg really enjoyed being away from the boys for a night. I've been joking that she is the Mayor of Kindergarten, but it's so fun watching her be so excited about school and making new friends.  She made a card for her soon-to-be cousins, Molly and Sloane :) She's finally getting interested in coloring, drawing and art. Up until recently she had zero interest. We went to the beach one night after school last week to play and watch the sunset, and packed a bunch of food for a picnic dinner. The seagulls at Windansea are so agg...

Fall, um summer, is here

Well it hit 100 degrees at the beach this week so it definitely does not feel like fall in San Diego. The poor kids are just sweatballs when I pick them up after school. It's actually pretty nice going to work and being in AC all day :)  It has been birthday party central lately. E got some fun teeth at Kingsley's last weekend. He has been quite the handful lately. He is 100% boy, that's for sure.  I spent the week in Cleveland for work. I saw this bunny and had to take a pic to show my Bunny. She loved it! We went to the Christmas Story House in Cleveland and saw the Fragile leg.  Today we went to the La Jolla Y. They opened a new pool and splash park and it did not disappoint. Awesome place!! E played hard and swam hard and fell asleep about 30 seconds into the drive home.  Sophia however, is still there with her new friend from school, Florence. She is having her first sleepover tonight at Florence's house. It's been so fun watchin...
