march for babies 2015

Same walk, different city. We marched once again this year, in memory of Jackson and to celebrate the lives of Finn, Sophia and Emmett. After all of the sickness this winter, and after hearing from a dear friend today whose mom passed away this morning, this walk is always a good reminder that life is short. Our experience over the past six years has of course left an impression on me and given me a perspective on life that I'm eternally grateful for. Sometimes the days are hard...someone is almost always whining, or fighting, or complaining about what socks they want to wear or what toy they had first...but in the end, it is all so good.

RSV round 2

Emmett had what seemed like another cold this weekend, which quickly turned into a nasty cough and wheeze. To the ER we went and were admitted to the children's hospital right away. He tested positive for RSV and has been officially diagnosed with asthma. His spirits are great--the nurses were calling him the happy wheezer. But being in the hospital is not fun. I hate being away from the rest of our fam. Hoping for a very quick recovery this time around.

spring

It is spring in Denver. No more snow and we've had lots of beautiful days in the 70s. We've been spending tons of time in the backyard. F and S love making potions and Emmett pretty much just sits in the middle of the yard and watches all of the action going on around him. Noah and I sip cocktails on the deck :) E had his 1 year checkup -- 82nd percentile for height and weight and 95th for head size.  Our neighborhood is full of tulips. Finn likes to walk the hood and count the flowers.  He's also really into roly poly bugs. He digs at the school playground and some days brings them home. Lucky us. Hanging with E on the deck. He had a big week - popped two teeth and started walking! Selfie. Miss Sassy Pants - 3.5 years old. She brought cupcakes to school today to celebrate her half birthday.

easter 2015

It certainly takes a village. We are burning through grandparents over here. Grandma Teresa flew to town to help us while Emmett was in the hospital and stayed until my parents got here last week while all three kids were on spring break. Then they stayed for another 10 days and as of today we are officially back on our own.  Thank you everyone for all of your help! We loved having all of you. Miss Sophia at school And swiffering. She loves a good swiffer! My dad and Finn spent lots of time in the yard, taking care of the fountain we have in the back and planting some flowers. Ta da! We love our porch swing. 5pm when the suns out with a glass of wine. Perfect. Sophia waking up from nap. This girl has accumulated a LOT of blankets and stuffed animals. Hanging with Bapa. Didi and Emmett xo

emmett turns 1

We survived a whole year with a third child. Barely. Mr. Emmett turned one on Saturday!! We had a mellow family celebration and took him to Nordstrom to get his first pair of shoes. What he's up to at one year old: saying dada and that's about it, cocking his head to the side to get our attention when we're busy doing something, following Finn and Sophia everywhere, cruising on all of the furniture and taking a few steps here and there, eating everything in sight, sucking the ears off his stuffed bunny and dogs, and still being the happiest baby we know. Love you to pieces Bubba.
