Week 1 of Summer

Week 1 of summer is officially in the books. Finn and Soph had a great time at camp, me and Noah had two date nights in one week, Finn - our late bloomer - learned to ride his bike, lots of park and beach time. It's been a good one so far. New sunnies for DJ EJ. Rock on. He still loves rock n roll and talks in one volume - LOUD. Yep, still wearing them. Inside. To watch TV. Popsicles at the park! I love the long days so much. Eric Paslay came to Dexcom last week for a visit, then we all went to the Observatory for his show. So much fun! Thanks for the workbooks, Didi. They are still super into them. Sophia wrapped up Musical Mashup camp this week with a performance to songs from Moana, Greatest Showman and Grease. It was adorable and Flo and Maria were in camp with her. Finn did Architecture camp and built all kinds of cool stuff. This week it's on to Jazz and Hip Hop and Archaeology.  Another night at the Observatory with Marc and Jess to ...

Grandparents to the rescue!

My parents came for a visit and to help us get through the first few days of no school. As always, we had an awesome visit and were all over San Diego having fun and wearing out kids :) They picked up Finn and Soph on the last day of school! Done!! On to fourth grade whoo hooo Another trip to the Fair! And Sea World. Even Emmett got to go :)  The Fab Five The boys petting sting rays at Sea World We hit up the breakfast at the Holiday Inn nearly every morning. Emmett hit it HARD. Between our time at the hotel pool and the bfast bar, they are probably happy to see us go. Ha! We hiked Cowles Mountain on Saturday afternoon. Thank you mom and dad for all of your help. Love you XOXO

Last days of school!

Well that year just came and went in the blink of an eye. Kindergarten and third grade, check! Finn's class had an end-of-year party and kickball game, and Sophia had kindergarten promotion followed by a little celebration. Time definitely speeds up the older they get. Today was day 1 of camp - summer is here! Sophia - my tall girl on the top row. They sang a whole bunch of songs and called each kids name, followed by a hug from their teacher.  We brought her flowers which made her REALLY happy :) Finn had an incredibly awesome teacher this year and an overall pretty great year.  Kinder graduate! Finn's class had a field trip to the SD Fair the second to last week of school. They'd been growing radishes for a few weeks and got to drop them off at the garden center.  Third graders are pretty great.  This sums up Finn right now. He's a big-time reader. If there's a book in the car he will pick it up and start reading it. And usually finis...

June is here!

The end of year school countdown is on! 8 days left until SUMMER. We had a jam packed week of fun and chaos.  Sophia is very into doing lots of poses for the camera lately. She and I went to the mall last weekend and she experienced Claire's for the first time. I told her she could pick out a couple of things - these glasses were in the mix.  Noah went to Vegas for a few days to see the Caps game so the four of us held it down. Only had to call in reinforcements once so I could get to an early meeting. We did pretty good without him but it was nice to see him come home. Lots of wrestle sessions in the dining room and they almost always end with Emmett pinning everyone.  He's a fighter but a lover, too. Twin day at school last Friday! Sophia and Elsie matched, and Finn and Simon wore matching rugby t-shirts.  We went out with the Lawrences and Brubakers on Friday night to celebrate Jen turning 21 :) We did dinner downtown followed by a comed...
