Super fun and busy weekend! Aunt Amy was in town for work and got to stay with us a couple nights. She got just enough kid-time before heading home to her nice, peaceful house :)  Friday night was the LJES back to school picnic. They have it at the field at school, everyone brings picnic blankets and dinner and sippy cups full of wine, it's a blast. DJ, glow sticks, kids running everywhere. Our goal was to not lose Emmett and we were successful! He danced the night away with his BFF Maddie, while Finn and Soph ran around with their crews and hit up the bake sale.  Finn started a tennis class on Saturday at Barnes Tennis Center...every Sat for 1.5 hours. This is serious! He was grouchy about it at first (shocker) but ended up having a blast. There were about 8 kids and 2 coaches, they did training drills, practiced their strokes and ended with serves. He did awesome. Another September 11th came and went. This year was the first year we went on with a normal day. It was a jam packed one with work, school, dinner, Sophia's back-to-school night and all kids finally in bed around 9. Noah and I sat outside and drank a glass of wine. The sky was super clear and filled with stars. We miss you, buddy. xoxo

Another week came and went and boom Monday is here! This weekend was a good one... These pics are from last weekend but I never posted them and love them! Emmett with his fresh buzz cut, showing me a succulent. He hiked all over the Gliderport at Torrey Pines. He really can keep up with F+S any day.  Our crew. The love affair continues with these two. They're still into superheroes and any game that involves both of their wild imaginations. I did hear Emmett say to Sophia the other day, "stop bossing me around!" Haha. It's only a matter of time... Friday night lights at La Jolla High. We cheered on the Vikings, watched the cheerleaders and hit the concession stand. Best view from a high school football game I've ever seen. The nachos were a hit! Haha.  Another weekend, another Soph/Flo sleepover! :) 5/6 going on 15/16 for sure! Holy cow, how do we have a 9 year old?!?! He had an amazing birthday and celebrated with his friends at Corvette Diner. His big gift was the Ninendo Switch. Yes, we finally have our first video game system. Happy birthday to our #1! You make us so proud every day. Yep, still digging Minecraft and Legos! 964 pieces in this one. Should be done in no time.  Arcade at Corvette Diner! We got each kid their own arcade pass and they had a blast. The crew - Finn, Nico, Wyatt, Lola and Luna. Milkshake time! Birthday boy! We started the day with Rose's Donuts -- the best donuts in the world! Noah accidentally got relighting candles.  Bfast spread.

We've had a great weekend so far. It's been so hot so we've spent many days at the pool! We buzzed Emmett's head on Saturday because he's such a sweat ball. He loves it.  Playing "mom and dad". They think they're like aunt Nay Nay with two babies :)  We hit up La Jolla High School on Saturday. Emmett took a lap around the track on his scooter. This is their new favorite game - putting beach balls under their shirts and running into each other until someone falls. Belly bombs! Our neighborhood had a pretty epic block party yesterday. People made soap box derby cars and raced them down the street. The cars were all amazing! We will have to get in on it next year. Unlike last year when they started on day 2, Finn and Sophia made it to the first day of school this year! Finn has Ms. Miller and Soph has Ms. Marisa. They're both with a handful of kids from their classes last year and were all smiles for their first week.  First day! Third grade! Finn and his best buddy Lola are in the same class.  Friday school spirit day! Soph with some of her buds from TK. They kinda rule the kinder playground since they're basically doing a second year there now.
