weekend update - 1/25/15

We had a fun weekend. It's been great exploring a new city and the kids have been excited to visit new parks -- especially when it is in the 60s like it was again this weekend. Woo hoo! Makes me so happy :) We had Charlie's family over on Saturday night and went to the Denver Zoo on Sunday. We live right off of an enormous park, City Park, which is similar to Balboa in San Diego. It's got tons of green space, playgrounds and a whole bunch of museums and the Zoo surrounding it. We loaded up both strollers and walked to the Zoo from our house. Mr. Emmett - almost 10 months old!!! We saw this peacock all over the Zoo. Finn kept asking when it was going to get "nervous" and throw up it's tail. Giraffes Our sassy pants threenager

finn's field trip

Finn's class had a field trip to the Denver Museum of Science and Nature this week. He was so excited for it, but super excited to ride the bus there. His partner for the day was Charlie, his new best bud in his class. When I picked him up yesterday I asked about his favorite part of the field trip. His answer: "when Charlie's mom got me Pirate's Booty out of the vending machine." Of course. Here's Finn and Charlie. The resemblance is a little scary, huh?

a warm and sunny weekend

It hit nearly 60 degrees this weekend and it was glorious! We strolled through our neighborhood on Saturday afternoon and ended up at Congress Park. The kids loved playing without coats on and we even found a little sand. Everyone keeps telling us Denver has over 300 days of sunshine so I'm hoping that is true. The rest of the weekend was mellow. Every virus known to man has rotated through the house to every family member. I'm ready for a wave of health.

2015 - the next chapter

Well the blog has been down six months and a few things have happened. We said goodbye to our bestest friends, packed up our tiny condo at the beach, loaded up our cars and drove halfway across the country to our new home. My parents met us here, helped us unpack, Noah flew back to San Diego to tie up loose ends, drove to Denver for a second time, we celebrated Christmas, we all got the flu, we celebrated New Years, I started a new job and the kids started new schools. We've been in Denver for a little over a month and I guess it is starting to feel like home. Like a nice, cold home. :) The kids have probably adjusted better than me and Noah. Finn loved school from day 1 which has been a huge relief. He is now a Teller Tiger instead of a Pacific Beach Penguin. His new buddies are Charlie and Zoey. Sophia and Emmett are still together at a preschool/daycare and both seem pretty happy. It's a montessori and Sophia has loved having all kinds of new independence. Sophia quit suck...
