October is here

It's officially October but it was 85 degrees yesterday! I love fall here, no tourists, great beach days and tired kids :) Here's a bunch of pics from the last few weeks...

Sophia has been getting to know lots of new girls in her class since most of her TK crew got split up amongst the 4 kinder classes. We ran into Ada's family last weekend at Windansea.

And had Joscelynn over for a tea party. Finn was at tennis (and wouldn't have wanted any part anyways), but the girls were so sweet with Emmett.

Sophia started Daisy Scouts. Their first activity was a dance class. They did 30 minutes of practice and then performed for the parents to earn their Dance badge.

Finn has a worksheet or two of homework each night now, and Sophia is supposed to write in her kinder journal each day. She LOVES having homework. Emmett likes to join in too.

Writing about her day.

Emmett is in the "I'm scared in my bed" phase which means he sneaks in with us. He sleeps like this all night. Does not move.

Another tea party! This time with Florence.

These two. Ten minutes after arriving at the beach..."can I have a snack?!"

We met the Lawrence crew in Del Mar for a pretty amazing beach day yesterday. We stayed almost til sunset. The kids played for hours.

This brave girl tried boogie boarding for the first time and is hooked! At one point, a wave took her down and she started crying. I asked if she wanted to take a break and she said, "no, i just love it so much". I even boarded with her. It was super fun.

The crew shutting it down.

DJ EJ.

We hit up the LJ Art + Wine Festival this afternoon. Gepetto's had a kids center. Emmett loved painting the limo. We met up with some school friends for art and cookies at Girard Gourmet.

Cheese!
Little kids took some serious naps this afternoon so me and Finnster got in some Headbandz. That's wrap...here comes Monday!

What we've been up to

It's been cold and snowy! We got almost a foot of snow on Monday afternoon and the kids had a snow day on Tuesday. They got hours of TV in the morning and then Noah came home and we all went sledding. The hill by our house was absolutely packed with kids. We had so much fun. Emmett cried and cried, saying "brrrr" until I threw him on a sled with me and flew down the hill. He cried the first time, and then loved it after that. Sophia and Finn were both so brave. Noah build them a jump and they both flew over it on the sleds over and over again. Finn loves to shovel the sidewalk. Noah snowboarded a couple days over the weekend so Finn was the man of the house - shoveling so Sophia doesn't have to even walk on the snow. Ha! Sledding! I went to a fun wine tasting party with other Teller moms on Saturday night. This was the welcome to the party.  Story time! Oh Emmett.

Sophia turns 5!

Our little bunny turned FIVE last week! I can't even believe it, a whole hand. She took lollies to school for her classmates, and then we had a party at La Jolla Rec Center on Sunday. Complete with a bounce house, pizza and a cake big enough to feed at least 100 people. Seriously, the cake was ridiculous. Apparently I ordered a full sheet instead of a quarter or a half. Oooopsies. I think five is gonna be a great year for Soph. She has made lots of new friends and is so happy to go to school everyday. I'm so happy she's in TK, she is loving it. She got a new bike from us, and lots of cool art stuff from friends, and her first Barbie! She also got another Wonder Woman costume from Nay Nay, thank goodness. Cruisin' on her new ride. Now we just have to get rid of those training wheels.  The actual night of her birthday she requested pasta so we went to Filipi's in PB. Hadn't been there in at least a decade and it did not disappoint. The waitstaff sang her ...

Our trip to Croatia

Helloooo! Well, we've had a few things going on so the blog has been neglected. But I want to post pictures from our last two trips this summer - Croatia and Italy. The first week of August, we flew to Split, Croatia and stayed there for a night at an Airbnb. Split is a big city with a great downtown area full of outdoor cafes, a huge jewelry market and is a main port to a whole bunch of Croatian islands. We spent 5 amazing days in Croatia - we absolutely loved this place. Gorgeous scenery, friendly people, very touristy with people from all over the world and inexpensive.  One of the many beaches in Split...     Noah bought a sweet raft for the kids. He about passed out blowing it up. Afternoon at the beach. Me and Finnster looking for a lunch spot. Sophia became a little fish this summer. She loved all the hotel pools and lakes/oceans/seas we came across. She met a friend this day, Thea, who we played with at the beach all day and then coinciden...
