Valentines, Presidents, Potty Training

The kids got a pretty awesome Valentine's Day gift from Didi and Bapa! The teepee fills out our underfurnished dining room really well :)

Every Friday Finn and Sophia's school has an assembly. Each week a class presents and last week it was B-2's turn! Every kid spoke into the microphone and read a sentence or two about the history of our democracy. Finn did an amazing job and we were so proud of him. Over 600 people in that crowd!

Emmett has never really like to swing until last weekend. All of a sudden he LOVES it and wants to go so high. He laughs and laugh and says "this is soooooo fun" the entire time. He has been saying the funniest things lately, using big words like "literally" and "actually" in the right context which sounds so funny coming out of his mouth. He started potty training at school this week, because they want to move him to the 3s class March 1. And because it's about time! So far he thinks it's hilarious when he has an accident and spreads his arms out and says "look at me, I peed my pants!!!" with a huge grin on his face. So, I'd say it's going pretty awesome.

We've been discovering our new neighborhood the last couple of weekends. There is an awesome bike path across from our house that's full of little trails and hills. We did some exploring and had some fun. Emmett got tired so I carried him for a bit. I said, "Emmett, this is teamwork buddy." He looked at me and said "Mom, teamwork makes the dream work."

4/5 of the fam. E was rock collecting.

We hit up La Jolla Shores last weekend. I can't believe Finn is more than halfway through second grade. He's changed so much this year, I just love hanging out with him. The Shores has a great playground and we walked into the village and found a sandwhich/coffee shop that also sells all kinds of imported candy. The kids found all kinds of stuff we'd had in Europe which they thought was so cool.

More swinging!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee

What we've been up to

It's been cold and snowy! We got almost a foot of snow on Monday afternoon and the kids had a snow day on Tuesday. They got hours of TV in the morning and then Noah came home and we all went sledding. The hill by our house was absolutely packed with kids. We had so much fun. Emmett cried and cried, saying "brrrr" until I threw him on a sled with me and flew down the hill. He cried the first time, and then loved it after that. Sophia and Finn were both so brave. Noah build them a jump and they both flew over it on the sleds over and over again. Finn loves to shovel the sidewalk. Noah snowboarded a couple days over the weekend so Finn was the man of the house - shoveling so Sophia doesn't have to even walk on the snow. Ha! Sledding! I went to a fun wine tasting party with other Teller moms on Saturday night. This was the welcome to the party.  Story time! Oh Emmett.

Sophia turns 5!

Our little bunny turned FIVE last week! I can't even believe it, a whole hand. She took lollies to school for her classmates, and then we had a party at La Jolla Rec Center on Sunday. Complete with a bounce house, pizza and a cake big enough to feed at least 100 people. Seriously, the cake was ridiculous. Apparently I ordered a full sheet instead of a quarter or a half. Oooopsies. I think five is gonna be a great year for Soph. She has made lots of new friends and is so happy to go to school everyday. I'm so happy she's in TK, she is loving it. She got a new bike from us, and lots of cool art stuff from friends, and her first Barbie! She also got another Wonder Woman costume from Nay Nay, thank goodness. Cruisin' on her new ride. Now we just have to get rid of those training wheels.  The actual night of her birthday she requested pasta so we went to Filipi's in PB. Hadn't been there in at least a decade and it did not disappoint. The waitstaff sang her ...

Our trip to Croatia

Helloooo! Well, we've had a few things going on so the blog has been neglected. But I want to post pictures from our last two trips this summer - Croatia and Italy. The first week of August, we flew to Split, Croatia and stayed there for a night at an Airbnb. Split is a big city with a great downtown area full of outdoor cafes, a huge jewelry market and is a main port to a whole bunch of Croatian islands. We spent 5 amazing days in Croatia - we absolutely loved this place. Gorgeous scenery, friendly people, very touristy with people from all over the world and inexpensive.  One of the many beaches in Split...     Noah bought a sweet raft for the kids. He about passed out blowing it up. Afternoon at the beach. Me and Finnster looking for a lunch spot. Sophia became a little fish this summer. She loved all the hotel pools and lakes/oceans/seas we came across. She met a friend this day, Thea, who we played with at the beach all day and then coinciden...
