2018 Mom's Trip, Beach Weekends and Amsterdam Guests

I got away to Minnesota in late July for my bi-annual girls weekend with my college besties. It was of course an amazing weekend and we all picked up right where we left off last time we did it in Denver. We stayed at a cute lakeside hotel, spent an afternoon on the water, shopped, ate, laughed and cried and then shut down a lakeside bar with our #almostforty dance moves. I love these girls so much.


The kids have spent many weeks at Y camp and it's been great. Some of the highlights for Finn were Commotion in the Ocean and Architecture; Sophia loved Musical Mash up and really anything involving all of her buddies. 

They came home with an award every Friday and Finn always surprised me. Camp Comedian, Coolest Cat in Camp. I love it.

We celebrated Ryan's birthday at La Jolla Shores a few weekends ago. So fun!

The family who lived next door to us in Amsterdam told us they'd come visit and two years later they did! They did a whole US road trip and San Diego was one of the spots. We took them to Windansea, did dinner and hung at our place. One of the nicest families we know. 

Another work trip - five weeks of straight travel this summer.

What we've been up to

It's been cold and snowy! We got almost a foot of snow on Monday afternoon and the kids had a snow day on Tuesday. They got hours of TV in the morning and then Noah came home and we all went sledding. The hill by our house was absolutely packed with kids. We had so much fun. Emmett cried and cried, saying "brrrr" until I threw him on a sled with me and flew down the hill. He cried the first time, and then loved it after that. Sophia and Finn were both so brave. Noah build them a jump and they both flew over it on the sleds over and over again. Finn loves to shovel the sidewalk. Noah snowboarded a couple days over the weekend so Finn was the man of the house - shoveling so Sophia doesn't have to even walk on the snow. Ha! Sledding! I went to a fun wine tasting party with other Teller moms on Saturday night. This was the welcome to the party.  Story time! Oh Emmett.

Sophia turns 5!

Our little bunny turned FIVE last week! I can't even believe it, a whole hand. She took lollies to school for her classmates, and then we had a party at La Jolla Rec Center on Sunday. Complete with a bounce house, pizza and a cake big enough to feed at least 100 people. Seriously, the cake was ridiculous. Apparently I ordered a full sheet instead of a quarter or a half. Oooopsies. I think five is gonna be a great year for Soph. She has made lots of new friends and is so happy to go to school everyday. I'm so happy she's in TK, she is loving it. She got a new bike from us, and lots of cool art stuff from friends, and her first Barbie! She also got another Wonder Woman costume from Nay Nay, thank goodness. Cruisin' on her new ride. Now we just have to get rid of those training wheels.  The actual night of her birthday she requested pasta so we went to Filipi's in PB. Our trip to Croatia

Helloooo! Well, we've had a few things going on so the blog has been neglected. But I want to post pictures from our last two trips this summer - Croatia and Italy. The first week of August, we flew to Split, Croatia and stayed there for a night at an Airbnb. Split is a big city with a great downtown area full of outdoor cafes, a huge jewelry market and is a main port to a whole bunch of Croatian islands. We spent 5 amazing days in Croatia - we absolutely loved this place. Gorgeous scenery, friendly people, very touristy with people from all over the world and inexpensive.  One of the many beaches in Split...     Noah bought a sweet raft for the kids. He about passed out blowing it up. Afternoon at the beach. Me and Finnster looking for a lunch spot. Sophia became a little fish this summer.
