A lazy few days in Amsterdam

We got back from Spain on Thursday and had two more days with Amy and Aaron. They headed back to India on Saturday and we miss them already! Finn said, "our house is so quiet now". :(
Finally lost his front tooth. That sucker was loose for months. He and Emmett were wrestling and E kicked him in the mouth. 5 euros from the tooth fairy. Booya.

Another kid-carrying bike, complete with a rain guard which is 100% necessary here. We haven't ventured into the bike scene yet.

We met an American on our street! His name is Rumer and he's 8. Perfect. Finn and these kids went around the neighborhood collecting trash and put it in a bin tied to this bike. Good times.

Along for the ride!

We met some expat families for drinks on Saturday night at a place called Amsterdam Roest. It's a super industrial spot right on a canal, with a sand playground for the kids and lots of beers on tap for the mamas and dadas. I've never seen a place like it - it was pretty cool. 

Everyone drinks these mint teas in the afternoons. I had my first one this week. So good.

We met Noah at his office space this week - WeWork. Pretty cool spot, with a jar of lollies at the entrance. Sophia had a tough time committing to a flavor.

I ventured out with the kids yesterday to a Monday market in the Jordaan neighborhood. I must have been out of my mind buying a kazoo for my girl who can NEVER stop making noise in the first place.

What we've been up to

It's been cold and snowy! We got almost a foot of snow on Monday afternoon and the kids had a snow day on Tuesday. They got hours of TV in the morning and then Noah came home and we all went sledding. The hill by our house was absolutely packed with kids. We had so much fun. Emmett cried and cried, saying "brrrr" until I threw him on a sled with me and flew down the hill. He cried the first time, and then loved it after that. Sophia and Finn were both so brave. Noah build them a jump and they both flew over it on the sleds over and over again. Finn loves to shovel the sidewalk. Noah snowboarded a couple days over the weekend so Finn was the man of the house - shoveling so Sophia doesn't have to even walk on the snow. Ha! Sledding! I went to a fun wine tasting party with other Teller moms on Saturday night. This was the welcome to the party.  Story time! Oh Emmett.

Sophia turns 5!

Our little bunny turned FIVE last week! I can't even believe it, a whole hand. She took lollies to school for her classmates, and then we had a party at La Jolla Rec Center on Sunday. Complete with a bounce house, pizza and a cake big enough to feed at least 100 people. Seriously, the cake was ridiculous. Apparently I ordered a full sheet instead of a quarter or a half. Oooopsies. I think five is gonna be a great year for Soph. She has made lots of new friends and is so happy to go to school everyday. I'm so happy she's in TK, she is loving it. She got a new bike from us, and lots of cool art stuff from friends, and her first Barbie! She also got another Wonder Woman costume from Nay Nay, thank goodness. Cruisin' on her new ride. Now we just have to get rid of those training wheels.  The actual night of her birthday she requested pasta so we went to Filipi's in PB. Hadn't been there in at least a decade and it did not disappoint. The waitstaff sang her ...

Our trip to Croatia

Helloooo! Well, we've had a few things going on so the blog has been neglected. But I want to post pictures from our last two trips this summer - Croatia and Italy. The first week of August, we flew to Split, Croatia and stayed there for a night at an Airbnb. Split is a big city with a great downtown area full of outdoor cafes, a huge jewelry market and is a main port to a whole bunch of Croatian islands. We spent 5 amazing days in Croatia - we absolutely loved this place. Gorgeous scenery, friendly people, very touristy with people from all over the world and inexpensive.  One of the many beaches in Split...     Noah bought a sweet raft for the kids. He about passed out blowing it up. Afternoon at the beach. Me and Finnster looking for a lunch spot. Sophia became a little fish this summer. She loved all the hotel pools and lakes/oceans/seas we came across. She met a friend this day, Thea, who we played with at the beach all day and then coinciden...
