Amy and Aaron stopped in Amsterdam on their way back to India from the States. We spent a few days here, and then headed to Mallorca for a sunny and beachy five days. Everyone here has been telling us about this Spanish island since we arrived - apparently it's the place to go. It was one of my favorite places I've ever been - beautiful beaches, warm weather and water, a busy city with lots of energy and tons of restaurants and shopping. It's a quick two hour flight from Amsterdam. We stayed in Palma, the capital of the island. We rented a house on Airbnb and it was fun to all stay together. The apartment was in a cool little neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants and shops and the beach. The only bummer was that my wallet got stolen on the bus from the airport to the apartment :(
Flying in...
Mr. Worldwide with Uncle Aaron, loose of the streets of Palma.
Me and Amy at the coast. The two of us got out for an afternoon wine while everyone else siesta'd. Forgot about the siesta. Why doesn't everyone in the world siesta??
A huge cathedral in downtown Palma.
Amy and Aaron with a pretty sweet photobomb by Noah.
Emmett in position on the balcony. He stood here most afternoons, yelling "booty butt" to people walking by. A real charmer.
One of the many, many side street/alleyways. It's an easy city to get lost in - lots of narrow, windy streets.
The BOB proved it's strength once again - survived another airport and trekked three kids all over Mallorca.
Delicious lattes.
A big monument near our apartment.
They posed! And smiled!
It was HOT during the day. We went to the beach about 5pm on Tuesday which was perfect.
A view from the beach on Tuesday night.
Soph walking home with Amy and Aaron. These kids have walked so much this summer!!
On Wednesday we rented a car (a sweet Peugot) and went to Marineland - the equivalent of SeaWorld. But not nearly as good as SeaWorld, or worth the $65 euro to get in. But we needed to do something fun for the kids and they loved it. They were fascinated by the stick shift in the car.
Marineland view wasn't too bad. It was about 20 minutes from Palma, in Portals Nous. There are small beach towns around the whole perimeter of the island.
A cute little street decorated with upside down umbrellas.
And streamers!
On Wednesday we took a day trip to Port de Pollenca, about 45 minutes north of Palma. Amy and Aaron rented a scooter and we all met up at the beach. We'd read that this area was one of the most family friendly. The beach was calm and FULL of kids.
We met a sweet family from Ireland and Sophia was in heaven. She swam all day long with these girls. We also dug a huge pool (hole) and tried catching one of the many fish that swam close to shore.
The girls doting on "baby Emmett".
Finn, Noah and Aaron tried so hard to catch a fish. Along with lots of other dads and kids. We had Pringles and peanut butter sandwiches for bait, buckets and nets. But the fish were too fast.
An adorable hotel right on the beach - Hotel Sis Pins. We grabbed lunch here before our beach day. Such a great few days and we can't wait to visit Mallorca again.

Such a great trip! Let's do it every year!
